A better week starts before the rescue.
Thank the person. Fix the pattern.
Picture a Friday review. One coordinator has chased three approvals, found cover for a missing supervisor and rescued a delivery slot. Everyone thanks her. Before the meeting ends, the same three problems are carried into next week.
The rescue deserved thanks. The pattern needed attention. When the same person keeps saving the week, ask what the work is asking her to compensate for. Missing information? Late decisions? A promise nobody checked against available capacity?
Make the promise more credible.
Then change one rule. An approval has a named decision owner and a decision time. A handover has a receiving person. A critical task has competent cover. Work is accepted into the week only when its inputs and capacity are credible.
Thank the person who rescued Friday. Then make next Friday less dependent on a rescue.

01
Look back before adding work.
Compare the last three repeats. Find the condition that kept returning.
02
Name the release decision.
Give the blocker an owner and a decision time. Make competent cover explicit.
03
Measure finished commitments.
Try one rule for a week. Count repeats and ageing work, not just effort or inbox volume.
